A storm passes through Central NY on Wednesday night bringing rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow to the area. Only a few tenths of an inch of ice accumulation expected but it doesn’t take much to create problems on the roads. Eventually, everyone will be cold enough for snow toward the end of the storm.
Thursday some lake effect snow is possible, mainly north of the thruway, and could lead to an additional inch or two of snow by Thursday night (this is not included in the map above).
Friday will be a quiet day but the next storm moves in Friday evening and will bring more rain, snow and ice to the area, with icing being the main concern once again. Temperatures rise Friday night, eventually changing the precipitation over to all rain for Saturday morning before coming to and end.
