Wednesday, March 18, 2020 (UTICA) – Rain showers move in Wednesday night (some snow and/or sleet may mix in above 1,500′ in elevation). Showers continue into early Thursday morning before tapering off and giving way to a quiet, mostly cloudy afternoon. Temperatures warm into the low to mid-50s then continue to rise overnight Thursday night.
A big warmup Friday with temperatures reaching the low 70s in the Mohawk Valley. Scattered showers during the day and possibly a few thunderstorms (which may be strong) as a cold front sweeps through. This will send temperatures plummeting Friday night into the 20s.
That sets the stage for a chilly weekend. Though it will be dry with plentiful sunshine, temperatures only reach the mid-30s Saturday and low 40s Sunday (which is typical of mid-March).
