Unseasonably Warm Ahead of Thanksgiving

Temperatures will warm into the low to mid-50s Tues & Weds

Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 (UTICA) – Temperatures will run a good 10° above average on Tuesday and Wednesday before turning colder on Thanksgiving. Quiet weather Tuesday, lots of sunshine, then scattered showers move in on Wednesday.

The wind will pick up Wednesday as showers move in and will be even stronger on Thanksgiving Day. 45 mph wind gusts will be possible and wind chill values will be in the 20s all day Thursday.

Some lake effect snow showers will be possible Thanksgiving Day (mainly in the morning) as cooler air sinks in. The bigger concern is the potential for damaging wind gusts.

Chilly but quiet on Black Friday & Saturday but Saturday night another strong storm system starts to push through bringing us a wintry mix on Saturday night and into Sunday. This could make returning holiday travel difficult at the end of the weekend. Check back often for updates.
