Turning Windy Wednesday, Colder for Thanksgiving

Storm brings showers, high winds Wednesday into early Thursday

Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 (UTICA) – Another mild day Wednesday as scattered showers move into CNY. Winds will be picking up through the day and a wind advisory goes into effect beginning at 6 PM (through 8 AM Thursday). Wind gusts of 45-50 mph will be possible.

Scattered showers continue overnight Thursday night, staying all rain in the Valley but snow will mix in at higher elevations (above 1200′). A slushy half an inch possible by daybreak Thursday in those areas. Showers then taper off later Thursday morning and winds begin to die down midday.

Temperatures Thursday will be in the upper 30s in Utica to start, remaining steady throughout the day. Dry but chilly on Friday and Saturday with highs in the mid-30s.

Snow moves in early Sunday and may bring several inches of snow to parts of CNY. This will be something to monitor closely in the coming days. Travel conditions will worsen for Sunday afternoon and evening.
