CENTRAL NEW YORK (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – A very slow-moving cold front moves into NY Monday night bringing scattered showers and a few thunderstorms to the area then returning temperatures to normal for late April. Scattered showers are possible Tuesday, mainly in the morning. It will be a good 20 degrees cooler than Monday with highs in the 50s.
Temperatures then plummet toward the freezing mark Tuesday night and as the wind picks up, lake effect showers will kick on for Wednesday. Cold rain showers may mix with snow at times, especially for higher elevations.
