Severe Thunderstorms Wednesday Followed by a Cooldown

Wednesday starts off sunny, hot, and humid with temperatures surging into the mid-80s ahead of a cold front that will kick up strong thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms are expected to move through in the afternoon and have the potential to turn severe with heavy downpours, strong wind gusts, and small hail possible. There is also a small, but non-zero, chance for a tornado.

In the wake of that cold front temperatures will cool off nicely on Wednesday night and only rise into the mid 60s on Thursday afternoon.

Friday is expected to be chilly with showers; temperatures will top out only in the 50s. We dry out for the holiday weekend and Saturday will be in the 60s, low 70s Sunday and Memorial Day.
