Scattered showers & storms Thursday, chilly day Friday

On Thursday, multiple rounds of scattered showers are expected to roll through NY with possibly a thunderstorm or two in the mix. Though the worst of the storms look to miss us to the south, some pockets of heavy rain could be cause for concern. Storms will be monitored closely.

Lake-effect rain showers are possible Thursday night and Friday due to the warmth of Lake Ontario and a breezy northwest flow. This pattern will keep clouds in for much of Friday as well, keeping temperatures from warming beyond the 60s.

Temperatures are expected to top out in the low 70s this upcoming weekend. That’s about 10 degrees cooler than normal for late July/early August. Saturday looks like the better of the two weekend days; showers are possible on Sunday.
