Rain Turns to Snow Saturday Night

Snow Saturday night followed by lake effect showers Sunday.

Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 (UTICA) – Scattered rain showers continue overnight Friday night as temperatures rise into the low 40s by Saturday morning. A break in the rain is expected midday Saturday with possibly some breaks in the clouds then more showers later in the day.

A change over to snow will occur Saturday evening, but later Saturday night in the Mohawk Valley. The above map shows how much snow is possible by Sunday morning. Totals in the Valley will be highly dependent on that switch over to snow.

Then Sunday lake effect snow will kick on, most active in the morning giving way to scattered showers in the afternoon and spotty snow showers continue into Sunday night.

Monday will be a quiet day ahead of our next storm that will bring snow in Monday night and into Tuesday. Turning colder behind that storm with temperatures staying below freezing for the remainder of the week.
