CENTRAL NEW YORK ( WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – A slow-moving system will bring 1-2.5″ of rain to the area beginning Wednesday night and continuing throughout the day on Thursday. In addition to the steady rain, occasional heavy downpours are possible and could lead to localized flash flooding.
The National Weather Service has put much of Central and Eastern New York under a marginal risk for excessive rainfall. That means flooding is possible Thursday into Thursday night in the usual problem areas. Those living in flood-prone spots should plan ahead. Rain continues Thursday evening before eventually winding down overnight.
Friday features just a few, scattered showers with more possible on Saturday (and again on Sunday) before a nice warm-up next week!
