Temperatures surge on Thursday into the 50s and even lower 60s, shattering old record highs for that date (Dec 16th). Showers may bookend the day but plenty of dry time is expected in between with some sun breaking out.

A cold front swings through Thursday night with some scattered showers that puts highs back in the 40s for Friday. Our attention then turns to the next storm to impact Saturday.

Snow moves into New York on Saturday and there is a threat for some sleet and freezing rain later in the day as temperatures rise. There is still much uncertainty in the forecast for the storm’s track and temperature profile; details that will be ironed out in the coming days.

Temperatures are back to normal starting this weekend and continuing next week. That means high temps in the 30s and nights in the teens and 20s.
