Flooding possible Wednesday night & Thursday as Fred remnants move through

Heavy rain is expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning as Post-Tropical Cyclone Fred moves through New York. 1-3″ of rain has already fallen over the past two days and an additional 1-3″ are possible by Thursday afternoon. A Flash Flood Watch will remain in effect. Those living in flood-prone areas should have an action plan ready should rivers, creeks, and streams begin to rise rapidly.

Rain Thursday morning will give way to scattered showers in the afternoon as Fred’s remnants pull away. There may even be some breaks in the clouds late in the day. Friday will be a welcome lull from the rain allowing waters to recede. More showers and thunderstorms are possible over the weekend.
