CENTRAL NEW YORK (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Temperatures remain steady under cloudy skies Wednesday night and only rise 5-8° by Thursday afternoon, putting highs in the lower 40s. Temperatures only fall to the mid-30s again Thursday night. A typical nighttime temperature this time of year is more like 17°.

Both Thursday and Friday will feature cloudy skies and a small chance for a few spotty showers. Rain moves through on Saturday followed by plummeting temperatures on Sunday.

As temperatures drop during the day Sunday, rain showers will eventually turn to snow. A cold and blustery start to next week is expected with teens Monday morning and only 20s for highs in the afternoon. Lake effect snow will be possible.
