Irena Tomaszewski, owner of Boulevard Cleaners, is just one of many victims suffering after the Halloween Flood.
After 34 years, Tomaszeeski had to shut down her business and does not know if she will re-open. She thinks government officials need to do more, including fixing the creek and buy her out so she can live, “a normal life.”
New York State Senator and Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon, proposed legislation last month for a buyout program. Town Supervisor of Whitestown, Shawn Kaleta, says he appreciates the efforts but funding needs to be attached to the program.
