Waterville survives to beat Little Falls by one

Sports

Waterville girls basketball went through all the emotions on Thursday night against Little Falls.

They trailed by seven in the third quarter, stormed back to take a four point lead and had to hold on for dear life at the end to get past the Mounties 47-46.

With less than 10 seconds to go, Kathleen Gallagher was fouled, sending her to the line to shoot two free throws.  She missed the first, but hit the second to give the Indians a one point lead.

On the ensuing Little Falls possession, Jenna Grabinski’s bid to win it rimmed out.

Molly Williams led the way for Waterville with 16 points.  Alexis Perrone also had 16 for Little Falls.
