WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Mount Markham Mustangs just missed out on a bye past the first round of the Class C field hockey sectional bracket, instead claiming the three-seed with their 11-5 overall record, meaning that they got to host their first game, against the sixth-seeded Homer Trojans, who entered the tournament below .500 with their 6-10 regular season record.
The Mustangs used four different goal scorers, Stephanie Delaney, Rebecca McClave, Kacie Owens, and Lexi Wolfe to win 4-0, and Ayva Kantor added a save in goal. Aislynn Cobb had 10 saves for Homer in defeat.
