UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Utica University Men’s Hockey team was riding their second consecutive week as the number one team in the country going into Friday night’s contest against King’s College, and they defended that lofty ranking with an even loftier win, 10 goals in the second and third periods on their way to an 11-1 victory.

Regen Cavanaugh was one of nine Pioneers with more than one point on Friday, scoring a hat-trick that included Utica’s first two goals of the game.

With the win Utica moves to 17-2-1 on the season and will play King’s once more over the weekend on Saturday at 2pm.
