Utica City FC excited to 'continue the tradition'

The Syracuse Silver Knights may be no more, but the team didn't venture very far.

Instead of leaving Central New York for good, the franchise made the short drive down I-90 to Utica, where they'll now be called Utica City FC.

"We had 7 years in Syracuse and it is sad that we're moving," general manager Tommy Tanner said.  "But we're continuing the tradition of soccer in Central New York and we're the only professional soccer team in the area, indoor or outdoor.  We're in Utica and we look forward to a great season."
