The Utica City FC franchise, previously known as the Syracuse Silver Knights, does something they’ve never done before.
They captured their first ever Eastern Division title with a 7-4 win over the Orlando Sea Wolves last Friday.
Previously, the Baltimore Blast won the championship every year the team has been in existence.
“This is something that the franchise has been waiting to do for eight years,” Andrew Coughlin said. “It’s always been Baltimore. Now we’re trying to reach the next goal of knocking out Baltimore in the divisional playoffs.”
Utica City FC begins postseason play on Saturday night.
