The New York Jets sent starting quarterback Zach Wilson to the bench late in the third quarter against the Buffalo Bills.

Following a Bills' punt, backup Tim Boyle entered the game for a 1st-and-10 at the Jets' 34-yard line. Buffalo held a 29-6 lead with 2:16 remaining in the third.

Wilson was 7-of-15 passing for 81 yards, one touchdown and one interception at the time of his exit. He had a 57.9 quarterback rating and the offense was 0-for-7 on third down under his direction.

The former No. 2 overall draft pick also rushed four times for 15 yards before yielding to Boyle. Wilson took five sacks and averaged 5.4 yards per pass.

Boyle completed his first three passes for 14 total yards, but a Garrett Wilson fumble ended his first drive in Bills' territory.

The 29-year-old Boyle entered with 17 career appearances, including three starts, under his belt. He has 574 yards, three touchdowns and eight interceptions to his credit.
