Sauquoit boys soccer expects winning to continue

Sauquoit Valley boys soccer’s 6-0 start has been stunning.

The Indians, who are coming off a three win season, have reeled off six straight wins to start this season and have catapulted to the No. 2 spot in the Class C rankings.

“I wasn’t sure how this season was going to go,” striker Nick Gulfuso said.  “I think we might have an undefeated season and we might have a shot at state finals.”

Sauquoit brought in a new coach for this season, Tyler Denton, and the team has been clicking since the switch was made.

“The chemistry seems better,” Gulfuso said.  “We did a lot of conditioning before the season and I feel like that’s paying off.”

The Indians will be in action next on Friday against Westmoreland.
