Oriskany hopes to go ‘win it’

Oriskany baseball has righted a wrong.

The Redskins avenged back-to-back sectional final losses with a 10-2 victory over Poland to earn a trip to the Class D state tournament.

“We just want to go win it,” senior Ricky Phelps said.  “We’re not done and we definitely don’t feel like Saturday is going to be our last game.”

Oriskany will be facing Deposit/Hancock in a subregional clash from Maine-Endwell as they hope to extend their season.

“They’re all good teams from this point on,” head coach Tom Meiss said.  “We just have to play smart, clean baseball.”
