UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Utica City FC announced the signing of 8-year Major Arena Soccer League veteran Gordy Gurson on Wednesday morning.
Gurson had spent time with 7 different MASL franchises starting in 2014 when he was named Rookie of the Year, and in 149 games played, he averages over a goal per game with 188 scored.
Gurson is originally from Park Ridge, Illinois, and was a three-time All-American at Robert Morris University in Chicago before going on to play with the Chicago team in the National Soccer League for a season before transitioning to indoor soccer.
After winning MASL Rookie of the Year in 2014 he was named to the United States National Indoor Soccer Team that won the Indoor World Cup in March of 2015, tallying a goal and an assist in 6 appearances for the team.
He played for the Milwaukee wave last season, scoring 14 goals in 22 games for the central division playoff qualifiers.
