ORISKANY, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Oriskany baseball team went into Monday’s contest against Morrisville-Eaton knowing that this game could decide which of the two teams would have the higher seed going into sectionals, both teams entering with 7-2 overall records.

Oriskany would leave victorious, defending their home diamond and claiming, for now, the higher standing of the two teams.

The Redskins would use their bats to power themselves to victory, taking the lead in their half of the first inning, 3-2, and never looking back, Eddie Wright for Oriskany having the best overall day going 2-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and scoring two runs.

With its 7-4 win over their division rival, Oriskany’s record goes to 8-2 and they jump to number four in Class D, behind only Lyme, New York Mills, and Stockbridge Valley in their pursuit of a Sectional Championship.
