FRANKFORT, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — The Frankfort Schuyler Maroon Knights have made it to the New York State Regional Eight-Man Semifinals after a thrilling 56-50 win in overtime over West Canada Valley on Saturday, November 11. Now, the Maroon Knights are one step away from the regional championship at Cicero-North Syracuse on Friday, November 24.

But first, the Section III eight-man champions must travel east for their regional semi-final game. What do you need to know before going to the game?

Who is Frankfort-Schuyler playing? The Maroon Knights will be playing the Pembroke Dragons out of Section V. Currently, the Dragons are the top-ranked eight-man team in the state, according to the latest rankings from the New York State Sportswriter’s Association, while the Knights are ranked third. The Dragons got to this game by knocking off the Frewsburg Bears out of Section VI, 49-20 on Saturday, November 10.

Where will they be playing? Frankfort-Schuyler will be playing at Waterville High School on Madison Street in the Village of Waterville on Saturday, November 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 PM. Gates will open at noon.

How much are tickets? Presale tickets are on sale now until 11:59 PM on Friday, November 17 and can be bought on the Section III website under the Store tab. They will be $9.50 until then. If you pay with a credit or debit card at the door, the price is $11.50, and if you pay with cash, it costs $15. Children under the age of five will be admitted free.

What can’t I bring into the stadium? According to the Section III website, backpacks, bags and outside food and drink will be prohibited in the stadium.

What happens if the Knights win? If Frankfort-Schuyler wins this weekend, their next — and final — game will be at Cicero-North Syracuse on Friday, November 24 at noon. New York State does not yet give a state championship in eight-man football, so win or lose, the Knights’ season would be done next week. If Frankfort-Schuyler wins, they will face the winner between Section IV Moravia — currently second in the state — or Section IX Sullivan West, who are eighth. That game is scheduled for Friday, November 24 at noon at Cicero-North Syracuse.
