LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Week three PGCBL Player of the Week Garrett Musey led the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs to a doubleheader split tonight against the Saugerties Stallions, hitting a go-ahead grand slam, his league-leading sixth of the season, in the second inning of the second game.

The offense for the DiamondDawgs was a little deceiving, the team, despite having a 3-1 lead at the time, did not get a hit until the second inning, scoring runs in the first via an HBP and two walks. Carrying a 7-4 lead into the third inning, MV gave up 3 runs to the Stallions in the top of the frame to tie the game heading to the bottom. The DiamondDawg pitching staff shut down Saugerties for the rest of the game though, not allowing a run in the 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th innings, locking up a victory for the home side.

With the split, the DiamondDawgs move to 10-10 on the season and third place in the PGCBL East Division.
