UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Mohawk Valley will go without a baseball or softball state champion in 2023, both the Little Falls baseball team and Poland softball teams dropping state semifinal contests on Friday to bring an end to the chase for a title.

Poland started the day off with a morning contest against Section V’s Scio/Friendship, but the offense wasn’t in gear for Tornadoes as they were shut out by a final score of 6-0. For Little Falls they had a tad more success offensively, actually leading against Section I’s Tuckahoe after the second inning but after allowing five runs in the top of the fourth they also weren’t able to come back. The final score was 5-2.
