POLAND, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – In December, Poland and West Canada Valley competed with one another as the numbers one and two teams in all of New York State Class D. West Canada Valley got the win at home that night and with that took over as the top team in the state, a position they have held since.
On Thursday night the home team won again, Poland winning by a final score of 50-37 and giving West Canada their first loss of the season. They were the final unbeaten girls’ team in Section III.
Logan Cookinham ran the show for Poland, 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists for the All-CNY senior including a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line. On the other side Analyce Grabowski was the leading scorer with 16 points while Reese Fellows had 10.
