ILION, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – It took until late in the first quarter, but the top-seeded Central Valley Academy Thunder found a way to put points on the board against 8-seed Clinton, give the ball to Jaylon O’Neal. CVA’s all-time leading scorer put up points in all four quarters, including a slam that put the cap on the win for CVA in the fourth that was described by one school administrator as, “the best dunk [they’d] seen in a high school basketball game.”
O’Neal finished with 22 points, a game high, and added nine assists, but three other Thunder players were also in double figures. CJ Judd was second with 18 points including three three-pointers, Deacon Judd had 15 points making up for a scoreless second quarter with 11 in the second half and also posting 10 rebounds on the night, and TJ Luke ended the day with 14 points going 7-for-9 from the free throw line.
For Clinton Tega Igho led the way with 16 points while Jack Palmieri had 12 and Patrick Ward put up 11.
