WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Mount Markham and Cooperstown girls’ volleyball teams both entered a midseason matchup on Tuesday unbeaten, the host Mustangs 9-0 on the year while the visiting Hawkeyes entered 10-0.

After a first set loss, the Mustangs first loss in a single set all season, Mt. Markham bounced back to win the next three 25-14, 25-20, 25-21 and claim a 3-1 victory to stay unbeaten and get to double-digits in the win column with 10.

Trinity Bailey for Mt. Markham posted a 21-kill, 12-dig double-double with 6 aces, including three in a row in the second set to bring back the Mustangs after they went down by multiple points at the start. Lucy Hayes led the way statistically for the Hawkeyes with 12 assists and 12 digs, while Braeden Victory led the team in kills with 5.

These two teams will play again one week from Wednesday.
