There have been plenty of ebbs and flows for Utica College men’s hockey this season.
The Pioneers have gone from being ranked in the top 10, to slipping out of the rankings. However, Utica College rallied before Christmas break winning four straight and currently sit in first place in the UCHC.
“I can tell you that the last 18 years without having an automatic bid makes every single loss painful,” head coach Gary Heenan said. “It affects you, your home life, everything. Now that you know it’s about peaking at the right time and that winning your league can still get you into the tournament, it’s very much a different mindset this year.”
Utica College begins the 2019 portion of their season on Friday at the Adirondack Bank Center against Skidmore.
