A local hockey star is coming to Utica College.

Clinton native Gregg Burmaster, who spent the past two years playing Division 1 hockey at Colorado College, is transferring back home to play for the Pioneers.

In two seasons in Colorado, Burmaster scored one goal and had three assists.  He’s hoping for bigger production at the Division III level and should provide a major spark for Utica.

The Pioneers are coming off an 18-9 season and an ECAC West regular-season title.  Utica College opens up its season on October 27th against Fredonia.

The Baseball Hall of Fame will be celebrating the Chicago Cubs’ first World Series title in 108 years with a special exhibit opening this Saturday.

The exhibit will feature the bat used by Ben Zobrist, who delivered the game-winning hit in the 10th inning of Game 7, as well as several other artifacts.  The World Series trophy will arrive for two days at the end of August.

After his historic debut on Wednesday night, the Yankees have sent Miguel Andujar back to the minor leagues.  Andujar became the first player in Yankees history and second player ever to have three hits, four RBIs and a stolen base in his MLB debut.

Manager Joe Girardi said the reason for the demotion was to allow Andujar to continue his development by playing third base every day at Triple-A.
