Excitement ‘off the charts’ for Colgate

Sports

The Colgate men’s basketball team is cherrishing the moment.

The Raiders will face Tennessee tomorrow afternoon in their first NCAA tournament game since 1996.

“The excitment level is off the charts,” Tucker Richardson said.  “Everybody is just really excited and focused.  At the end of the day, we have a job to do.”

As a 15-seed, not much is expected of Colgate to knock off a team that for a time, was the No. 1 ranked team in the country and that remains in the top-10.

“We made it here and we want to make the most of it,” Dana Batt said.  “That one shot, one opportunity deal could really play into our hands because we’ll be playing with a lot of extra passion and fire.”

Tip-off for the Raiders is scheduled for 2:45pm.
