Dolgeville runs away from Sherburne-Earlville in the season opener 46-19.
The Blue Devils opened the scoring 2:28 into the first quarter when Chase Doxtader broke free for a 55-yard touchdown run, but Sherburne immediately responded with an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to take a 7-6 lead.
From there, it was all Dolgeville. Devin Gorinshek put the Blue Devils up for good with a 12-yard scamper. Not long after, Aasin Claus ran it in from six yards out and then Nic Bailey capped the first half scoring for Dolgeville with a two-yard run to make the score 28-7.
Sherburne showed a little fight toward the end of the half with a safety, and then an 11-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 11, but Dolgeville poured it on in the second half outscoring the Marauders 18-2.
In total, the Blue Devils ran for over 300 yards on the night. They’ll be in action next a week from Friday against Mt. Markham.
