UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The New Jersey Devils returned prospects Kevin Bahl and Alexander Holtz to the Utica Comets on Tuesday afternoon, strengthening the Comets roster while simultaneously allowing the two young players to get game-speed minutes at an early point in the season.
Bahl had not played in a game since October 24th when he was the 7th defenseman and played 10:58 against the Washington Capitals. Holtz had not played since the following day, October 25th, racking up 12:29 in ice time against the Detroit Red Wings.
Holtz brings goal-scoring to a Comets team that has struggled to beat opposing goaltenders this season, last in goals scored and bottom ten in the league in both shots and goals per game. The 20-year-old Swede led Utica with 26 goals in 2021-22 and was third on the roster in shots.
