UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Utica Comets carried a 3-0 lead into the third period of Friday night’s game against the Rochester Americans, but two quick third period scores and some bad puck-luck with just over 1:30 remaining in the game sent it to overtime and eventually a shootout. Linus Weissbach scored on the visitor’s first attempt and Michael Houser kept a clean sheet through three rounds to steal a 4-3 win for the Americans, tying them with Utica and Syracuse (who were able to defeat Belleville Friday in a shootout of their own) for second place in the AHL’s North division with 72 points.
