NEWARK, N.J. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – New Jersey Devils have sent forward Andreas Johnsson through waivers, re-assigning him to the Utica Comets on Thursday morning to join the team for a pair of home games this weekend.

Johnsson played in 71 games last year for New Jersey with 13 goals and 22 assists but did not make the teams’ roster out of training camp and was placed with the Comets to start the year. With Utica, Johnsson was playing at over a point-per-game pace (13 points in 12 games) before being called back up to the Devils as an injury replacement on December 2nd. He only played two games with New Jersey in the time since then and was sent through waivers to return to the Comets on Thursday morning.
