After dropping Saturday’s preseason opener, the Comets responded on Sunday with a 3-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch in their final tune-up before the real games begin.
Nikolay Goldobin appeared to get the scoring started midway through the second period when he tapped home a loose puck right in front, however the goal was awarded to Alexis D’Aoust.
Michael Carcone made it two nothing later in the period when he scored off a 2-on-1 with Brett McKenzie.
Syracuse cut the deficit to 2-1 off a Jason Akeson goal in the third period, but less than a minute later, Anton Cederholm got the goal back.
The Comets will now turn their attention to Saturday when they take on the Toronto Marlies in the season opener.
