HAMILTON, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Colgate athletics named on Friday, August 5th their Hall of Honor class of 2022. The class includes 14 new members, eight men, and six women, who will be honored with an induction on Saturday, September 24th during the school’s homecoming weekend.

The 2022 honorees are broken into 12 athletes and 2 coaches going all the way back to the Colgate class of 1998’s Nicole D’Orazio and Seth Schaeffer, who led the women’s soccer and men’s basketball programs respectively in their time at the school.

The two non-athletes who will enter the hall are longtime men’s and women’s swimming and diving coach Bob Benson, who started at the school in 1970 and coaching through the year 2000, and Braden Houston, who started at Colgate coaching men’s ice hockey in 1972, coached women’s ice hockey from 1995 to 1999 and helmed the golf program until 2005. Houston has also been the acting athletic director at the school and the chair of the Colgate athletics hall of honor for 26 years.

Colgate athletics begin to play on Wednesday, August 10th for 2022-23, and women’s soccer heading to Binghamton for a preseason exhibition.
