Today Utica mayor Robert Palmieri held his final sweep before 18,000 runners invade the city. Today’s sweep marks the 50th time the mayor has conducted a sweep through the city. The intent of the sweep is to clean up streets and inspect the boilermaker course. The mayor says there’s an anticipation building and he’s excited to have the city look its best.
Palmieri says,”We’re out today making sure that the route is pristine, clean safe and that all the runners are going to have a great time on Sunday.”
