UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Boilermaker road race has revised its Covid-19 policy, no longer requiring proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test to participate.
Mark Donovan, President of the Boilermaker, said in a statement released today that race officials had been monitoring the path of Covid-19 since February of 2020, and that the safety of participants, staff, volunteers and the community has always been top priority.
For those who may not be comfortable competing in person, there is still a home-edition of the race available, participants are able to run either a 15 or 5k on their own any time from July 1st to July 10th, and will receive their pin glass and finishers medal or pin in the mail.
The 5k race is set to kick off Sunday, July 10th at 7:15am, with the 15k starting at 8amand the wheelchair race still waiting for an official start time. Registration is still open for all variations of the race on boilermaker.com.
