Syracuse drops a second straight game.
The Orange fell 71-59 to No. 14 Buffalo on Tuesday night, their first loss to the Bulls since 1963. It was also Syracuse’s fourth non-conference loss of the season, which is something they’ve now done just four times during the Jim Boeheim era.
“We’re not a good team,” Boeheim said. “We came on at the end of the year and played three (tight) games. Arizona State had a wide open corner jumper from their best shooter that would have won the game. We would have gone home. He missed.”
The Orange were a bubble team heading into Selection Sunday, before making it as one of the last four in.
“We’re that team,” Boeheim said. “We have not demonstrated that we’re better.”
Syracuse returns to action on Saturday when they host Arkansas State at the Carrier Dome.
