Baur shuts down Houghton in 1-0 Utica College win

The Pioneers ace tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out six in a 1-0 victory over Houghton College on Thursday afternoon.

Utica College scored their lone run in the bottom of the second inning when Charles McAllister came home on a Nick Melchiore throwing error while attempting to turn a double play.

With the win, Utica College improves to 7-14 on the season.  They'll be in action next on Saturday when they host Houghton again.  First pitch is scheduled for noon.

In other college baseball action, Herkimer County Community College beat Cayuga 4-3 before falling 3-2 in the second game of the doubleheader.
