WHITESBORO, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Whitesboro Police have arrested a Yorkville man for drug possession after catching him riding his bike in Whitestown.

Police stopped two suspicious males on Clark Mills Road in the town of Whitestown, one carrying a car rim. Officers reached out to the Village of Whitesboro Police Department, because one of the men was a suspect in an ongoing investigation.

A search of one of the men uncovered a quantity of methamphetamine and other stolen items. After the investigation, police arrested 46-year-old Lucas Payne of Yorkville on two counts of seventh-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. One charge was related to a previous investigation. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Payne was issued a ticket to appear in the Village of Whitesboro Court at a later date.
