When Bianca Devins’ life was taken graphic photos of the aftermath were posted on Instagram. Those photos were allowed to be viewed on the social media platform for a long time after the service was notified of the offensive material. Wednesday, Rep. Anthony Brindisi (D-NY22) held a press conference, flanked by Brianca’s mother and grandfather, to talk about efforts being made to hold social media operations like Facebook and Instagram more accountable for such lapses.
