UPDATE – Why Woodstock Was Denied

Town of Vernon Says No To Permit Request

The promoters of the proposed Woodstock 50 festival have suffered a setback in their plans to hold their event at Vernon Downs. Vernon Town Attorney, Vincent Rossi, says that the Town of Vernon’s Code Enforcement Department has rejected a request from the Woodstock promoters for a permit to hold the event in that town. Rossi says that the Woodstock promoters have five days to appeal the Codes Department ruling. If the Town of Vernon Planning Board decides in favor of the Codes Enforcement Department, the Woodstock promoters could go to court to seek a remedy.

Material submitted by the Woodstock promoters came in too late and, seemingly, short of documentation to show compliance with town code rules.
