Winter storm slams Central New York

Last night marked the beginning of the first major snow storm of the season. That brings the snow plows out. In addition to the big trucks that clear the roads, hundreds of pick-ups trucks with a blade on it, clearing out parking lots and driveways. Stone Age Landscaping says they provide plowing and shoveling when winter storms hit the area.

“We manage about 100 properties right in the Utica area, so snow, ice, sidewalks, parking lots, pretty much everything.” -Tony Zalocha, Co-owner, Stone Age Landscaping.

Depending on the size of the snow storm, their crews could be out all day and night clearing the snow. Since the storm hit yesterday they’ve been plowing for more than 48 hours. Landscaping may be over for the year, but they’ll have their work cut out for them this winter.
