Whitesboro Teen Dead, Another Critical in Cicero Crash


A local teen is dead and another is in critical condition following a car accident in Cicero.

Kameron Evans,16, of Whitesboro was traveling northbound when he drove off the left shoulder through a grassy median. The Toyota Sican turned over sideways into the path of an oncoming SUV. He remains in critical condition.

Sean Jewett, 16, of Whitesboro was in the front passenger seat of the car.  He died at Upstate University hospital in Syracuse.

 ” There was a female jogger that jumped this fence here and apparently involved with a passing fire fighter and they attempted to do CPR on the passenger. It’s a very tragic situation as you can image to have a loss of life for an accident like this.” New York State Police Captain Jeffrey Raub said.

The driver of the SUV sustained non-life threatening injures.

In a statement from the Whitesboro School District:
“Words cannot express the sadness we feel for the students and families involved in this tragic accident. This is an unimaginable situation, one we must face together as an entire school community to help each other grieve and heal. Our district crisis team has been mobilized and is prepared to help students and staff in any way possible. Grief counseling will be available beginning tomorrow to anyone who needs it. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends, and all those affected by this heartbreaking situation.” Superintendent of Schools,Brian K. Bellair said.
The investigation into what caused the accident is on going.
