WHITESBORO, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Whitesboro Police arrested a man on Curran Road on Saturday, March 18, after causing a stir on the road.

Police found 62-year-old David Carter on Curran Road intentionally obstructing traffic by walking in front of vehicles. During the investigation, Carter kicked a nearby car, causing damage to the vehicle. He would continue his behavior until police were finally able to arrest him.

Carter was then transported to the Whitesboro Police Department for processing. He was released with two appearance tickets and charged with fourth-degree Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor and Disorderly Conduct, a violation.

Further and upgraded charges are pending.

UPDATED TO ADD (March 29, 2023): According to the Whitesboro Police Department, there have been new charges filed against David Carter of Whitesboro stemming from this incident. He has additionally been charged with third-degree Criminal Mischief and third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon — both felonies — and second-degree Menacing, a misdemeanor.

Carter has since been remanded to the Oneida County Jail on $5,000 cash, $10,000 insured bond or $50,000 partially secured bail.
