If you try calling the Woods Valley Ski Resort we are waiting for cold weather, you’ll hear this voicemail.
“We’ve been experiencing a lack of cold weather and we’ll be ready to jump on it when it arrives,” The area’s owner Tim Woods said.
His team has attempted to make snow, but because of the weather, he’s only been able to do that for a few hours We’ve got another week or ten days of warm weather to endure but the overall pattern looks like it’s going to start shifting after that and we’re ready to jump on it.
Despite the slow start to the ski season, Tim says he has a lot of hope for a long and snowy winter.
“We’re a little behind the eight ball, but if you look at the 30 year historical averages, we don’t open until mid-December,” Woods said.
“That said we’ve spent a lot of money on snow making improvements over the last few years and we’ve been trying to get that open date earlier in the year,” he added.
