Walmart Restricts Number of Shoppers During Pandemic

News

(WUTR-TV) — Beginning Saturday, April 4th, all Walmart locations will limit the amount of customers who can be in a store at once. Stores will now allow no more than 5 customers per 1,000 square feet at any given time. This amounts to roughly 20% of the store’s capacity.

All associates at a store will mark a queue at a single-entry door and direct arriving customers where they will be admitted one-by-one and counted. Once a store has reached capacity, customers will be allowed inside on a one-by-one basis.

Store will also impose a one-way movement through their aisles next week in a number of locations, using markers and direction from associates. This will help costumers avoid close contact with one another.

Once a customer checks out, they will be directed to exit through a different door than they entered to help lessen the chances of coming to close of others.
